Raymond Charles Bottass, Jr.

Raymond Charles Bottass, Jr., 49, of West Hartford, beloved husband of Josephine D’Aloia-Bottass for twenty-one years, passed away unexpectedly on April 26, 2021.  Born in Torrington, he was the son of Raymond C. Bottass of Torrington and Lynn (Cyr) Griffen of Middlebury. Ray was the owner of NCMI, LLC.

Ray's life was one full of light and love. He was no stranger to hardship and was known for his hard work for his family and those he called family. His generosity, passion and enthusiasm ran deep and he was always willing to give people a second chance, sometimes a third and fourth.

His hearty laughter and humor were infectious and still ring through our ears and hearts. He was quick with a joke or a story and made everyone feel as though they were special. He would challenge everyone to be their best selves and truly appreciated those he called friends...brothers. He drew strength from time spent with the cousins, nieces and nephews, friends new and old, and family near and far. Ray was always just a phone call away, generous with his time and willing to listen or extend a helping hand.

His brightest light, strength, love and pride came from his wife, Josephine, and two sons, Ryan and Alex. Anyone who spent time with Ray would hear how proud he was of his family. Time spent with Ryan and Alex and their friends made him the happiest and most fulfilled. He was generous with sharing his life with all who knew him and those stories and memories will be cherished forever. 

Along with his parents, wife and sons, Ray is survived by his brother, Kenneth Bottass of Thomaston; two sisters, Jana Bottass of Colchester and Carrie Veronesi of Thomaston and his nieces and nephews.
