Utilda (Gourzang) Wright

Utilda “Tuty” Wright of Middletown, CT passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Utilda was born in Hanover, Jamaica.  She migrated to Middletown, in 1992.  She worked at the Holiday Inn of Cromwell until her retirement.  Utilda liked to garden, and her greatest passion was cooking for her family and friends.

Utilda is survived by her husband Clinton of sixty-two years; her daughters Veronica, Verna, Ericka and Delite; sons Leslie and Wallenton; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and two great, great grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Utilda was predeceased by her daughter Paulette, four sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 30th at 11:00 am at Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown.  Interment will follow in Indian Hill Cemetery.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 am to 11:00 am before the service.  To share memories or send condolences to the family, please visit www.doolittlefuneralservice.com.
