Thomas Edward Barclay

Thomas Edward Barclay, 75, of Coventry, husband of Cynthia (Patterson) Barclay for thirty-five years, passed away on May 7, 2024, at Hartford Hospital.  Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Edward and Eleanor (McGarvey) Barclay.

Tom was a member of First United Methodist Church in Middletown.  He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.  Tom moved to Connecticut in 1982 and worked for Gerber Scientific and Fotomat Company. Tom loved cats and while living in Pennsylvania, he was a member of a band playing the base guitar. 

Along with his wife, Tom is survived by his sister-in-law, Sherry Dechane and a cousin Gerry Dean.

Family and friends may call on Saturday, May 25th at 2:00 – 4:00 pm at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 10 N River Road, Coventry.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 26th at 2:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church, 40 Tuttle Road, Middletown.  A private burial will be held in the State Veterans Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s memory may be made to CATALES, INC., P.O.
