Thaddeus “Ted” Cyril Buchalski, 88, of Cromwell, passed away on December 25, 2020. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he served in the U. S. Air Force as a flight mechanic and was stationed in Japan in support of the 5th Air Force during the Korean War. A long time pen pal association with Beverly, his devoted wife, turned into a marriage of sixty-four and a half years. Making his home in Connecticut, he worked at various positions at Hamilton Standard, retiring after thirty-seven years of service. He devoted his life to family and home. A member of St. Augustine Church, he served as Eucharistic Minister and director of their food pantry for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 23 of Wethersfield. Ted was a volunteer in Wethersfield Flu Clinics and Hazardous Waste Programs. He was a blood donor with the Red Cross contributing over 5 gallons of blood.
Ted was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Josephine (Durka) Buchalski, his son, James Peter, his brother, Vincent, his daughter-in law, Barbara, and sisters, Claire Frederick, Nancy Milczynski, Jean Osowski, and Isabelle Yousko. He leaves his loving wife Beverly (Kurr), his daughter, Pamela Braid and spouse Laurie of Florida, his son Thomas of Enfield, daughter-in-law, LuRae of Georgia, grandchildren, Brian Buchalski, Brianna Buchalski, Allie Buchalski and Lucy McCart and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ted’s memory may be made to Saint John Church, 5 Saint John Court, Cromwell, CT 06416.
