Suzann Marie (Butler) Mason

Suzann Marie Mason, 85, of Moodus, CT, the beloved wife of Ronald A. Mason for sixty-two years, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. Suzann was born to the late Walter S. Butler, Jr. and Arrah (Cairns) Butler on January 19, 1940.  

She is survived by her beloved sister-in-law Pam Butler, her two sons, Scott K. Mason of Upper Black Eddy, Pennsylvania and David A. Mason of Bridgewater, Massachusetts and her daughter Kerry Shotz and three grandchildren, Samuel, Jacob and Mackenzie Shotz of Duxbury, Massachusetts.
 

Suzann graduated from Trenton State University with a degree in education and taught elementary school for twenty-seven years. Her last school district was, Clinton Township in New Jersey. Sue has many lasting connections to Hunterdon County NJ. She was a lifelong learner, an avid reader, a skillful artisan quilter and had a gift for decorating. In addition, Sue was known for her love of cooking, entertaining and being a 'Master Gardener’.
 

Suzann was an active member of Valley Bible EFC in Haddam, CT where she facilitated women’s Bible studies and served in numerous ways within the women’s ministry. Her most earnest wish was for all to know that ‘God sent His Beloved Son to die for us, that our belief in Jesus will restore our soul and provide eternal life’. She has been traveling the earth with Jesus in her heart and she is now embraced by God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
 

A memorial service will be held on April 26, 2025, at Valley Bible Evangelical Free Church, 220 Turkey Hill Road, Haddam, CT at 12pm. A luncheon will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Suzann’s memory may be made to Valley Bible EFC Youth Group, 220 Turkey Hill Road, Haddam, CT 06438.
