It is with deepest sadness that we share the loss of our beloved sister, Susan Buggie Palmer, who passed away peacefully at home on October 5, 2024. Susan was born on June 21, 1951, in Middletown, Connecticut to William K and Helen Anderson Buggie. She grew up in Cromwell and attended Salve Regina College in Newport, RI.
Sue went on to work for American Airlines, Eastern Regional Office where she was in charge of VIP Clientele. This role afforded her the opportunity to travel throughout the world. She continued this love of travel with her beloved husband of 25 years, George Palmer who predeceased her in 2011. Together they traveled extensively especially enjoying numerous trips to London.
Sue will be greatly missed by her siblings and their spouses: Barbara and Frederick Fountain, Patricia Grieb, William and Marie Buggie, and Sharon and Richard Zajack as well as her many nieces and nephews, and their children. Known affectionately as Aunt Susie, she embraced life to the fullest and was always happily involved in their lives, creating wonderful and lasting memories. We will forever cherish her quick wit, her nostalgic family stories, and her impromptu singing.
Sue was an avid golfer and played many courses throughout the country, achieving four hole-in-ones during her golf career. She was Women’s Club Champion multiple times at Portland, Tallwood, and Blackledge golf courses in Connecticut, and at Blue Water Bay in Florida.
Our heartfelt thanks to Middlesex Health Hospice Program, especially Diane, Jan, Brian, and Krystina, and her home caregiver Grace for their exceptional care and compassion.
A Celebration of Susan’s Life will held on Sunday, October 13, at 12:00 PM at the First Congregational Church, 355 Main Street, Cromwell, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome, in honor of Susan’s memory, to Middlesex Hospital Hospice, 28 Crescent Street, Middletown, CT 06457.
