Susan Elaine (Harris) Bright

Susan Elaine (Harris) Bright, 77, of Middletown, beloved wife of Richard S. Bright for fifty-four years, passed away on January 21, 2025, at Yale-New Haven Hospital.  Born in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Arlene (Whitmore) Harris.

Susan lived in Middletown her whole life graduating Woodrow Wilson High School Class of 1965. She worked at SNET for a few years before starting her family.   In her later years, she worked at Bielefield School and Snow School in the cafeteria for twenty years.  She was a member of the YMCA and enjoyed knitting.  Susan’s family was everything to her.

Along with her husband, Susan is survived by two sons Geoffrey H. Bright and his wife Jill of Plainville and Jonathan A. Bright and his wife Tonya of Coventry; three grandchildren Hannah Bright, Nolan Bright and Jordan Bright; a brother William “Kip” Harris and his wife Mary Anne of Middletown and five nephews and one niece.
