Sandra Ann (Whitman) Marquis

Sandra Ann Marquis, 65, of Higganum, passed away on Monday April 15, 2024, at Hartford Hospital, after braving a longstanding illness. She was born in New Haven on February 22, 1959, the youngest child of the late Arnold Morrell Whitman and Madeline Moosdorf Whitman.

Sandra grew up in North Haven, Connecticut with her parents and siblings. She has also lived in Meriden, New Britain, Plainville, and Berlin. Sandra was employed as a payroll administrator at Companions & Homemakers, after having worked for companies such as Dunn & Bradstreet and The Hartford throughout her career. She also obtained her GED later in life, as well as a medical assisting certificate degree. She enjoyed going on her phone, watching television, and an occasional bike ride or shopping trip. Sandra was also appreciative of nature and animals, including different kinds of plants, flowers, birds, and spiders.

Sandra was predeceased by her parents, sister Madge Whitman Ondusko, brother Raymond Whitman, nephew Tommy Ondusko, nephew Steven Creech, Aunt Florence Vaccaro, and niece Amy Whitman.

Sandra will be remembered by her daughter Nicole Catherine Marquis, of Higganum, as well as by her close relative James Conant, also of Higganum. Sandra has many other relatives in the greater Connecticut area, including her previous spouse, Jude Marquis, several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She leaves behind three cats: Toby, Brenda, and Missy Q.
