Ruthner "Ruthena" (Wright) Hilton

     Ruthner (Ruthena) Wright Hilton, 88, of Middletown, wife of the late John Edward Hilton, entered into her eternal rest on July 26, 2024. Ruthena was born on December 22, 1935, in Williamsburg County, South Carolina to the late John and Celia Gray Wright. 
     

     She relocated to Middletown in 1962. Ruthena retired from Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in 1997. She was a longtime member of the Cross Street AME Zion Church where she served on several boards.
     

     Ruthena is survived by two sons, Lee Edward Hilton and John Franklin Hilton; three daughters, Altheria Hilton, Sheila Jones (Fred) and Alicia Hilton Stewart (Pierre deceased) all of Middletown, CT; one sister-in-law, Ruth Hilton of Hamden, CT; one brother-in-law, James Bell of Maryland; six grandchildren, Nakeah Hilton, Jacari Hilton, Shacara Hilton, LaShauna Jones, Jasamine Hilton, Jalen Jones; six great-grandchildren; Takai Jimenez, Jenaya Salafia, Ariana Campbell, Devonne Drake, Zayla Hilton, Levi Jones Jordan; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
     

     She was also predeceased by four brothers, six sisters, a daughter, Arthina Hilton, and a granddaughter, Monique Jones.
     

     Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 2nd at 11:00 am at Cross St. AME Zion Church, 440 West Street, Middletown. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Middletown.   Family and friends may call at the church on Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 am.
