Russell McFadden, Jr.

Russell “Butch” McFadden, Jr., 82, of Middletown, beloved husband of Jeannetta (Buttram) McFadden, passed away on June 11, 2025, at Middlesex Hospital.  Born in Jacksonville, Florida, he was the son of the late Russell and Lillian (Dawkins) McFadden, Sr.

Butch lived in Middletown most of his life and graduated Middletown High School.  He was a school bus driver for the City of Middletown, a chef in a restaurant in Hartford and the owner of Mac’s Café in Middletown for forty years.  Butch enjoyed going to the Foxwood Casino, was very opinionated and loved his family deeply.

Along with his wife, Butch is survived by his son Russell Eugene McFadden of Middletown and Albert Daniels of Georgia; brother John Dawkins of Middletown; sister Bonnie Thompson of Middletown; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Butch was predeceased by his son Maury “Peanut” McFadden and his daughter Valeria McFadden Vereen.
