Rosa Elba Dejesus

Rosa Elba Dejesus, 64, of Hartford, wife of the late Jose Rodriquez, passed away on August 30, 2025, at her home.  Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the Rosa (Camacho) Dejesus of Middletown and the late Amado A. Dejesus.

Rosa lived in Hartford most of her life where she was very giving to the community and always willing to help people.  She loved music and dancing and was always the life of the party. She enjoyed cooking and feeding people, no one ever left her house hungry or without a plate of food to go.  Rosa will be remembered as a very tenacious person with a big heart.

Along with her mother, Rosa was survived by her son Jose Rodriquez of Middletown, two daughters Yolanda Rodriquez of Manchester and Daisy Rodriquez of Milwaukee, WI, her brother Julio Dejesus of Middletown, three sisters Miriam Robles of Middletown, Gladys Torres of Atlanta, GA and Norma Baez of Middletown, four grandchildren Bianca Rodriquez, Arianna Rodriquez, Jeremiah Rodriquez and Mikayla Rodriquez, two great grandchildren Messiah and Jayla, her companion Victor Ellison of Hartford and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and father, Rosa was predeceased by a sister Margaret Adorno Dejesus and three brothers William Dejesus, Alfonso Dejesus, Jr. and Jose Dejesus.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 17th at 10:00 am in Pine Grove Cemetery, 857 South Main Street, Middletown.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Rosa’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.  To share memories or send condolences to the family, please visit www.doolittlefuneralservice.com.
