Rodney May Obituary

Rodney Charles May, 87, of Cromwell, husband of Barbara (Arena) May for sixty-four years, passed away at home on January 28, 2024.  Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Milton and Jessie (Carrier) May.

Rod lived in Cromwell for sixty-two years and worked for the Connecticut power companies for thirty-five years.  He loved fishing, golfing, and playing horseshoes. Rod was a very social person who would strike up a conversation with strangers and loved helping his neighbors.  He was a lifelong Red Sox fan.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his son, Steven May, and his partner Shein Wheeler of Vernon, a daughter, Valerie Triblets, and her husband, Rhody of Rocky Hill, four grandchildren, Michael May, Nicole May, Grace Triblets and Cole Triblets, a special niece Kathy Dempsey, and many dear friends, nieces, and nephews.

Besides his parents, Rod was predeceased by his sister, Nancy May.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3rd at 1:00 pm at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Street, Cromwell. Family and friends may call on Saturday before the service from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
