Robert "Rob" Howard Paul, Jr.

Robert “Rob” Howard Paul, Jr., 65, of Cromwell, beloved husband of Susan (Mantie) Paul, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the West Haven VA Hospital.  Born in DeRuyter, NY, he was the son of the late Robert Howard Paul, Sr. and the late Pauline (McCoy) Paul.

Rob was an active tennis player and teacher for years.  He graduated from the Middletown Adult Education in 1989 and went on to earn his Associated Degree from Middlesex Community College in 1997.  Then he went on to earn his Bachelor of Science Degree, with honors, from Post University.  He was a member of Alpha Chi.  Rob loved doing things outdoors, hiking, boating, fishing, and scuba diving.  He also loved reading, playing chess, art, drawing and music.

Along with his wife, Rob is survived by his daughter, Mary Paul and her husband Brian of Bridgeport, and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on August 9 at 1:00 pm in the State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Rob’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Ctr., Rocky Hill, CT 06067.  To share memories or send condolences to the family, please visit www.doolittlefuneralservice.com.
