Robert Joseph Sullivan, 93, passed away peacefully at his home in Cromwell on September 6, 2022. Born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts on March 14, 1929, he was the son of the late Jeremiah and Catherine (Garvey) Sullivan.
A native of Fitchburg, Bob served in the Korean Conflict and was discharged from the Navy in 1952. He then joined Pratt and Whitney Aircraft as a sheet metal mechanic and worked his way up through the supervisory ranks. Bob was an avid golfer and played on many golf leagues during his working years. After retirement, he continued the game of golf until April of this year. While not playing golf in his early years of retirement, Bob and his wife loved to travel throughout the country on mini vacations. His later years of retirement, Bob loved to sit by the water near his home in Naples, Florida. He liked watching the boat activity and feeling the sun on his face while listening to his “oldies” music and enjoying a cold can of Budweiser beer.
