Robert “Bob” Jared Dimock, of Cromwell, beloved husband of Ann Weil Dimock, passed away Thursday on his 80th birthday (May 8th, 2025). He was born on May 8th, 1945, in Hartford to Jared Gilbert Dimock and Ruby Armstrong Dimock. He was educated in Hartford and Middletown Public Schools then went on to attend Chowan College. Bob was first employed at Waverly Printing in Portland for 5 years. He then spent the remainder of his career working as a printer for Aetna Life and Casualty in Hartford and then Windsor.
Besides his wife of 58 years, Bob leaves behind his son Peter and his wife Mindy Dimock, and his daughter Kristen and her husband Scott McCarty. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Kelsey Zajac, Jared Dimock, Nicole Dimock, and Amanda Zajac. He also leaves his sister Susan, and brother-in-law Robert Griswold.
Bob spent most of his adult life living in Portland, where he was an active member of Portland Congregational Church for 57 years. During his time at the church, he served on various committees and boards. He loved to sing in the church choir. For the past five years Bob lived at Covenant Living of Cromwell. There he enjoyed the Music Jam and having lunch with the jammers. Bob was the jack of all trades: he enjoyed cars, boating, fishing, camping, world traveling, woodworking, and playing cards. He also loved spending time with his family and friends.
