Robert Vincent Buggie, 94, of Cromwell, beloved husband and best friend of Rita (Giroux) Buggie for sixty-nine years, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Cromwell, he was the son of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Hilkenbach) Buggie.
Robert lived in Cromwell all of his life and was a member of Saint John Church. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Along with his two sons, Robert owned and operated RWK Tool. He was a gentleman farmer, an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed gardening and camping with his family.
Along with his wife, Robert is survived by two sons, William R. Buggie and his wife Lisa of Cromwell and Kenneth J. Buggie and his wife Donna of Cromwell; two daughters, Barbara Dennis and her husband Bruce of Willington and Geraldine Swanson and her husband Robert of Willington; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 11 at 10:30 am at Saint John Church, 5 Saint John Court, Cromwell. Burial will follow in the State Veterans Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday morning from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Street, Cromwell.
