Robert Beatty, Jr. Obituary

Robert “Bob” Edward Beatty, Jr., 87, of Middletown, beloved husband of MaryAnn (Wasco) Beatty, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Middlesex Hospital.  Born and raised in New Haven, he was the son of the late Robert and Helen (DeBouck) Beatty.

Bob graduated from Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven and continued his education graduating from University of New Haven.  He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.  He was employed in Production Control at Aerospace for many years.  Bob enjoyed music and gardening, watching football and basketball and was an avid Red Sox fan.

Along with his wife, Bob is survived by two sons, Robert C. Beatty and his wife Suzanne and James Beatty; five grandchildren, Rick Beatty, Michael Beatty Melanie Beatty, Meghan Beatty and Kirstin Beatty.

Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by a granddaughter, Carly Beatty and a brother Donald Beatty.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the VA of Newington and Middlesex Hospital staff on the 5th and 7th floor for their compassionate care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 25th at 10:00 am at Saint John Church, 5 Saint John Court, Cromwell.  Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery in North Haven where full military honors will be accorded.  The Cromwell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.  To share memories or send condolences to the family, please visit www.doolittlefuneralservice.com.
