Rita Victoria (Giroux) Buggie

Rita Victoria (Giroux) Buggie, 94, of Cromwell wife of the late Robert V. Buggie, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023.  Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Sarah (LaCasse) Giroux.

Rita lived in Cromwell for sixty-four years and was a member of Saint John Church.  She worked as an office Manager at RWK Tool, Inc. with her husband and sons for many years. Rita loved being around family, especially at Christmas.

Rita is survived by two sons, William R. Buggie and his wife Lisa of Cromwell and Kenneth J. Buggie and his wife Donna of Cromwell; two daughters, Barbara Dennis and her husband Bruce of Willington and Geraldine Swanson and her husband Robert of Willington; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Along with her husband and parents, she was predeceased by four brothers and a sister.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 3rd at 10:30 at Saint John Church, 5 Saint John Court, Cromwell.  Burial will follow in the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown.  Family and friends may call on Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Street, Cromwell.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Rita’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
