Richard Harry Grant

Richard Harry Grant died March 14, 2021 after fighting a long battle of kidney disease and lung cancer.  He was born August 20, 1940 to the late Beatrice Rice Grant and Harry Grant and was married to the late Betty Grant. Mr. Grant enlisted in the United States Army in 1963.  After returning from his service with the Army Mr. Grant worked for Amtrak for more than 20 years as a welder.  His passion included music, and chess. 

Survivors include his daughter Moneek Grant, grandchildren Michael, Moneek, Damarion, and Dennir, and sisters Gladys Rice Johnson of Waterbury, CT and JoAnn Grant Cote of Killeen, TX. 

Along with his wife and parents, Mr. Grant is preceded in death by sisters Debra Rice Marsh, Pamela Grant Joyner and Sheila Grant. 

The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude for the loving supportive care by the staff of Department of Veterans Affairs in Rocky Hill, CT.
