He was born on October 18, 1945, in New Britain, Connecticut and made his home and raised his family in Cromwell and Higganum, Connecticut. Rick was a dedicated and devoted partner to his long-time friend, Joan Hatfield. They were childhood “choir nerds” who shared a deep love of music and singing.

Rick is survived by his son Richard Callahan and spouse Colleen Dolohanty of Manchester; brother Patrick Callahan and spouse Sandra of Florida; brother Thomas Callahan and spouse Dean Goishi of Florida; brother Lawrence Callahan and spouse Donna of Cromwell; and brother Timothy Callahan and spouse Joanne of Portland. Rick attended Cromwell High School. Then worked as a Tool and Die maker at Emhart Corporation. Much of his professional career was at Pratt & Whitney Corp and affiliates for 38 years. Rick held various positions of increasing responsibilities and importance, of which he was very proud. As a retiree, he worked as a professional photographer for the Disney Corporation, capturing magical moments for children and families. Rick had a passion for singing and was a professional singer and soloist. In addition, he enjoyed buying and selling classic cars like Corvettes and Mustangs. He also had a keen and long-time interest and expertise in photography.

May Rick’s spirit find eternal peace and rest, and may his memory be a source of comfort and strength to his loved ones. He was “one of the best” and will forever live in the hearts of all those he loved.
