Pamela “Pam” Zawisa, 80, of Middletown passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024. Pam was the only child to the late Louis and Mildred (Marthers) Vladik of Middletown. She attended local schools and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1961. She won the heart of James “Rab” Zawisa, and they married in 1962. They had over 57 wonderful years together until Rab’s death in 2019. Pam was a proud homemaker and raised her two children, Jimmy and Richie. She loved seeing them compete on the football and baseball fields and attended games in any weather. The sports passion continued with her grandchildren Joshua, Brendan and Daniel. Pam also had the opportunity to work outside of the home and enjoyed her time and coworkers at Bob’s Surplus.
Pam loved her animals, a fact well known amongst family and friends. Because of this love there were always multiple cats and dogs at the Zawisa household. At a young age Pam developed a love for horses, with Ellie holding a special place in her heart. Pam had many friends and one of her favorite trips was the Bermuda cruise with Pat, Frank, Anita and Ronnie. She enjoyed many fun times with Lynn, Sharon and Bill. Pam fondly reminisced about family gatherings with Tony, Jill and all the kids. The beach was always Pam’s special place, sitting on the waterline with her toes dipped in the ocean.
Pam is survived by her son, James Zawisa Jr and his wife Tammy, grandchildren Brendan, Daniel and Joshua Zawisa and his fiancée Taylor Mackenzie. In addition to her parents, Pam was predeceased by her husband James Zawisa and son, Richard Zawisa. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Cobalt Health Care for taking care of Pam.
