Nicholas Palomba Obituary

Rocky Hill- Nicholas J. Palomba, 100, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2021. He was the husband of Carol (Speck) Palomba of 59 years. Nicholas was born on April 12, 1920, in Waterbury. He was the son of the late Thomas and Adeline (Tillie) Palomba.

Nicholas served in World War II in the Navy. When he returned home, he worked for Lombard Bros Trucking for 42 years in Waterbury. Nicholas loved spending quality time with his family at his cottage on Highland Lake in Winsted, CT. If you walked by the cottage you would be greeted by him with the same pleasant conversation if you knew him for 50 years or just met him. He especially loved our yearly family reunions where he would play cards, tell stories, and have great food from all over. Nicholas touched so many people in his route from Waterbury to Pittsfield that when one of his family would find out who we were, they would tell us a great story about our Father. He inspired us to become great people, great members of our community, and what service and giving back means.

He is survived by his four children, Lynda Sabat (Michael) of Brecksville, OH, Beth Radcliffe of Ocala, FL, Lois Laigle (Richard) of Torrington, CT, Nicholas Palomba (Valarie) of Clearwater, FL; eight grandchildren, Nicole, Tanya, Michael J, Amber, Joshua, Courtney, Ashley, and Leah and four Great Grandchildren, Sloan, Reese, JP, and Kayden.
