Naomie Ruth (Floros, Brauer) Crouch, 95, of Middletown, Connecticut, widow of Theodore Brauer and Leonard Crouch passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Water’s Edge Rehabilitation. Born in New Britain, she later moved to Cromwell, where she raised her four daughters and spent the last 45 years of her life in Middletown. She was a devoted member of Faith Lutheran Church.
As the youngest of ten children, Naomie held a deep appreciation for family throughout her life. In her younger years, she could often be found roller-skating in her poodle skirts and later bowling in a league—activities that brought her joy, connection, and lasting memories. With the arrival of her grandchildren, she lovingly became known as “Gram,” a role she treasured deeply. She continued to share her warmth, joy, and love of family with them, creating moments that will be remembered for years to come.
She is survived by her daughters, Claudia Smith and her husband, John, of Elgin, Texas, and Amy Kloten and her husband, Greg, of West Hartford, Connecticut; eight grandchildren, Patrick Smith, Daniel Smith, Angel Carlone, Leann Laspino, Heather Davis, Tom Bishop, Ted Briggs, and Sarah Bishop; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Theodore Brauer and Leonard Crouch; her daughters, Sandra Davis and June Bishop, and her husband Dean; her five brothers, Joel, James, Phillip, Charles, and Robert Floros; and her four sisters, Cora Thibodeau, Sophia Gasparini, Alaine Nevilas, and Martha Gajewski.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown.
