Morgan Bradford Daniels of Durham, CT, passed away on September 30, 2021. He was born in Middletown on December 16, 1938, to the late Orrin E. Daniels and Florence Jennette (Morgan) Daniels.
After graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School, Morgan enlisted in the U. S. Navy, where he served for four years as a hospital corpsman. Following his honorable discharge, he enrolled in the University of Hartford, from which he received his baccalaureate degree in education in 1966. Morgan then taught science in the East Haddam school system for more than 30 years. He also served as a Boy Scout leader, and was a member of the Durham Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
Morgan had a life-long interest in studying and collecting rocks and minerals, and owned Nutmeg Minerals in Durham for many years. Morgan also enjoyed growing orchids and cacti, and he and Joyce were members of organizations related to these plants. He loved to read, and had a marvelous sense of humor.
Morgan is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Joyce A. (Eastwood) Daniels, recently of
Haddam, and their three children, Melissa J. Thompson and her husband Joseph of Higganum, Diana J. Daniels of Buena Vista, Colorado, and James B. Daniels of Boise, Idaho. He also leaves his sister, Luella Daniels Landis and her husband, George E. Landis, of Cromwell.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 8th at 11:00 a.m. at the Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street in Middletown where masks are required. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Family and friends may call on Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
