Miguel Julia-Vazquez a dedicated family man with a phenomenal heart that loved reading, painting, gardening and cooking and always keeping his family in prayer. His wife and grandkids were the apple of his eye.
Miguel was drafted into service in 1952 and enlisted as an Infantryman in the United States Army. He retired after more than twenty-two years of service, with a tour of combat in the Korean War and two tours of combat in the Vietnam War. Miguel was combat wounded three times and was a recipient of three Purple Heart medals. In addition, he was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge and a Silver Star medal for heroism. Upon retiring from the United States Army, Miguel was trained as a professional chef and pursued his love for the culinary arts.
He is survived by his wife Jeanette Julia-Vazquez; sons Miguel Julia and Jose Julia; daughters Jeanette Crawford (Shawn Crawford) and Christine Julia (Luis Santana); sisters Mercedes Julia Vazquez, Isabel Julia-Vazquez, and Maria Julia-Vazquez; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and three great, great grandchildren.
Miguel is now reunited with his family in Heaven, daughter Wanda Julia; mother, Beatris Vazquez; father, Julio Julia; and brothers, Armando Julia-Vazquez, Enrrique Julia-Vazquez and Luis Julia-Vazquez.
