Marilyn Kay (Smith) Marszal, 92, of Meriden, wife of the late Rumfil T. Marszal, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026. Born and grew up in Washburn, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Elsie (Richards) Smith.
Marilyn spent her lifetime working as a CNA and taking care of her family, whom she was extremely proud of. She loved birds, vacations to Rangely, Maine, going dancing with Rum, spending time at the shoreline, and in her later years enjoyed watching game shows.
Marilyn is survived by three sons, Mark Sperry of Southington, Thomas Sperry of Williamstown, Vermont and Rumford Marszal of Middlefield; three daughters Elaine Sperry Natlo of Meriden, Paula Schloesser of Providence, Rhode Island and Frances Gable of Meriden; two sisters Evelyn Godding of Kissimmee, Florida and Joyce Flewing of Scarboro, Maine; twenty three grandchildren and forty seven great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, Marilyn was predeceased by her daughter Katherine Midboe and sister Mona Storm.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 6th at 11:30 am at the Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown. Burial will follow in the State Veteran Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Thursday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 am before the service at the funeral home.
