Marie Rachel (Theriault) Corbin

Marie Rachel (Theriault) Corbin, 89, of Bremerton, Washington passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2020, at Foster Meadows Adult Family Home.  Formerly of Poulsbo, WA, Cromwell and East Hartford, Connecticut, Rachel was born in Van Buren, Maine to Leon and Catherine (Cormier) Theriault.

Known as Rachel, she graduated high school in Van Buren, ME. In June 1954, she married the love of her life, Armand L. “Pete” Corbin. They moved to East Hartford where they made their family home. Rachel worked at St. Isaac Jogues Church in East Hartford and Conn. Bank & Trust.  She was a devoted member of St. Elizabeth Seton Church.

 As a gracious host and wonderful cook, family and friends enjoyed many of her favorite dishes.  She and Armand always took great joy in gathering with family and friends. They graciously opened their home to everyone. She always went out of her way to make you feel like a special guest at her family gatherings. She will always be remembered by her infectious laugh.  She was a loving and devoted mother to her four children, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving children, Gloria Prendergast and her husband John; Linda Costello and her husband Joseph; Philip Corbin; and Janet Cinnamon and her husband Todd; her beloved grandchildren Kelly Costello, Laura Marquez and her husband Skyler, Jeffrey Prendergast and his wife Lindsay, Marc Prendergast and his wife Kristin, Aaron Cinnamon and Kayla Cinnamon; great-grandchildren Avery, Lucas, James, Emma, Wyatt, Delaney and Dominick.

She is also survived by her sisters Jeannine Cyr, Pauline Theriault, Lolita Plourde, her brother Reynold Theriault, and her sisters-in-law Patricia Pelletier, Jeannette Theriault, and Mary Jane Theriault.  Also, life-long cherished friend, Vi Gagliardi. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her.

She was pre-deceased by her parents, and her husband, Armand; her brothers, Reno Theriault, Claude Theriault and Roger Theriault; and her sisters Theresa Melanson, Rose Calhoun, Gemma Franck and Patricia Smith.

Due to social restrictions services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be private at Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford, CT next to her husband Armand.
