Lunnie Mae (Foster) Butler

Lunnie Mae Foster-Butler 93, of Bloomfield, CT died on June 3, 2021. Lunnie was born In Americus, GA and she had thirteen siblings of which all are deceased. Lunnie left Americus after graduation and traveled to Michigan then to Hartford, CT where she met and married her husband Quitman Butler. Lunnie owned the first Black Package Store in Hartford, CT. Some of her happiest moments were spent challenging her friends of Federated Home to a game of Bingo, Pitty Pat and trips to the casinos. Lunnie's primary passion was cooking collard greens, baking cakes and sweet potato pies. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her Caretakers Lori, Freida, Betty and Gwendolyn for their love and compassionate care. Funeral hours will be held Monday, June 14, 2021 during the hours of 10:00AM - 11:00AM at Doolittle Funeral Service, Inc., Middletown, CT.
