Louis Joseph Ruffino, Jr., 76, of Westbrook, husband of Nancy (Freudenstein) Ruffino for forty-seven years, passed away on November 16, 2025, at Middlesex Hospital. Born in Middletown, he was the son of the late Dr. Louis J. Ruffino and Jane (Pagano) Ruffino.
Louis graduated from Middlesex Community College in 1979. He was employed at the State of Connecticut where he designed and maintained the original computer program for the state’s Social Services. Louis was a dedicated player of setback and countless other card and board games. Whether fishing, playing pickleball, throwing darts, or out on the tennis court or golf course, he was always game. Louis will be remembered as a devoted husband, dad, and grandfather.
Along with his wife, Louis is survived by his daughter Angela Jane Kesselman and her husband Steven of Ridgefield; two grandsons Alexander “Xander” and Maddox; two brothers Peter Ruffino of Meriden and Matthew Ruffino of Cromwell; a sister Maria Tolman of Alstead, NH, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Louis was predeceased by his sister Ann Ruffino DeSario.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 22nd at 10:00 am at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1055 Randolph Road, Middletown. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
