Kenneth Babbitt Obituary

Kenneth Stanley Babbitt, 56, of Berlin, passed away on July 19, 2022 at Autumn Lake of Cromwell.  Born in Middletown, he was the son of Nelda (Kessinger) Babbitt of Cromwell and the late Stanley Babbitt.

Ken grew up in Cromwell and graduated Xavier High School where he played football.  He continued his education at the University of Hartford and Southern Connecticut State University graduating with a degree in Social Work and Criminal Justice.  He worked as a corrections officer for the State of Connecticut and enjoyed cooking so much he worked part time at Saybrook Fish House.  Ken was a fan of the Celtics, Red Sox and the New York Giants and enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family.

Along with his mother, Ken is survived by two sons, Dylan Babbitt of Wethersfield and Samuel Babbitt of Cromwell; two brothers, Mark H. Babbitt and Quentin W. Babbitt, both of Cromwell; a sister Veronica A. Gee of Summerville, SC and  nieces, nephews, aunts and an uncle.

Besides his father, he was predeceased by a brother Herbert M. Babbitt.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Ken’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2275 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 9, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.  Cromwell Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
