Kathleen Phillips Obituary

Kathleen Adams Phillips (born Jan. 11, 1945), died peacefully on October 20, 2024, at her home.  She is survived by her sons, Thomas Phillips and wife Kara, and James Phillips and wife Angela, and her sister, Patricia Daly.  She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 51 years, John Phillips, and her younger brothers; Raymond and Timothy Adams.

Kathleen was a life-long nurse, dedicating herself to the care and comfort of others.  The end of her career specialized in hospice care, a field that required enormous amounts of love, caring, and empathy as she helped other families and persons with end-of-life transitioning.  Everyone who knew her thought that she was an angel on earth, with her great capacity to care for others, and bring light into a room.

Kathleen loved going on adventures, buying and wearing anything colorful, animals, anything chocolate, and most of all, was a loving mother and wife.  Her ability to love was unparalleled, and her outgoing personality shined when she met new people and went out of her way to make everyone feel included, accepted, and special.  Her kindness to her family and everyone around her will be greatly missed, and always remembered by those who loved her.

The family would like to thank Heritage Commons for making the final chapter of her life so enjoyable. Kathleen was the “Queen of Heritage Commons” where she took great pride in helping others and developing deep friendships with so many of her fellow residents. She was able to spend her final days enjoying fantastic meals (and desserts), the theater, museums, riding carousels and walking on the beach.

Visiting hours are 3:30 to 6:00 on Sunday October 27, 2024, at Heritage Commons, 38 Boston Rd., Middletown, CT.  The burial will be private.
