Karen Jean (Boden) Budd

Karen Jean (Boden) Budd, 84, of Cromwell and formerly of Marlborough, wife of John “Jack” Budd for sixty-three years, passed away on April 20, 2026, at Pilgrim Manor in Cromwell.  Born in Wilkinsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Dorothy (Dean) Boden.

Karen lived in Cromwell since 2018, moving from Marlborough where she had lived for fifty-six years.  She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Coventry and was employed at RHAM High School for twenty-two years.  Karen enjoyed baking, cooking, quilting, sewing, camping and just being outdoors.

Along with her husband, Karen is survived by her son David A. Budd and his wife Christine of Seattle, Washington; her daughter Kathy J. Salisbury of Argyle, Texas; her sister Diane L. Engleka of Monroeville, Pennsylvania and five grandchildren Jack Budd, Charles Budd, Andrew Budd, Kaitlin Salisbury and Luke Salisbury.

Burial will be private. A memorial service will be held on May 14th at 10:00 am at Covenant Village, 52 Missionary Road in Cromwell.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Karen’s memory may be made to Benevolent Fund at Covenant Village of Cromwell, 101 West Street, Cromwell, CT 06416.  Cromwell Funeral Home has care of the arrangements.  To share memories or send condolences to the family, please visit www.doolittlefuneralservice.com.
