Joyce Marion (Stack) Higgins

Joyce M. Higgins, of Middletown, beloved wife of the late Robert Higgins, passed away on February 18, 2025.  Born July 14, 1939, in Bristol, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Stack and Marion (Meeker) Stack. Joyce was a retired VNA nurse who earned her nursing license from Lynn Hospital in Lynn, MA and her BSA in nursing from the University of Connecticut school of nursing. 

Joyce is survived by her sons; Robert, Dale and Joseph and her much loved grandchildren.  She also leaves two sisters, Marion Stack Forbes and Sharon Stack Petsa and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Along with her husband and parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Gladys Wallace, Sandra Spencer, Joan Smith, Linda Walden, and her brother Wayne Caverly.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 27th at 11:00 am at the Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown.  Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.  Family and friends may call on Thursday morning before the service at the funeral home from 10:00 to 11:00 am.  To share memories or send condolences to the family, please visit www.doolittlefuneralservice.com.
