John William Shea, Jr.

John William Shea - February 19, 1926 – April 4, 2022, fondly known as Jack, Jackie, Jackie Boy, Dad, Papa; he lived a storied life.  Survived by his son Michael Shea of ME: daughter Carol Lawrason of AZ; his brothers Robert Shea and wife Pat of CT and Paul Shea and wife Beverly of MA; his loving grandchildren Christine Frost of MA, Susan Lamoureux and husband Christopher of ME and Josh Lawrason and wife Rachel (Quiqui) of MA. His Great grandchildren Jeremy Lamoureux, Joshua Lawrason, Taylor Lawrason, Jacob Lamoureux, Isaac Lawrason and Lex Lawrason. Papa joins his angel in heaven, great grand daughter, Alexa (Lexi) Lamoureux; step family Dennis Mont’Ros of FL and Daniel Stehle, wife Melanie and their two children, Anna and Peyton of CT.

Jack grew up in Portland ME.  Much of his time was spent island hopping around Casco Bay, hiking and reading. Jack would join the Navy and go off to fight for our country in WWII.  When he came home, he got married and raised a family in Portland.  In the 70’s he would move to Cromwell, CT where he would manage large bakery plants and help raise Dennis & Daniel.  He would build his friend network through an active lifestyle of hiking and kayaking into his 90’s.  He would also make many friends including his best friend “Duke”, going out for breakfast daily. 

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 21st at 1:00pm in the State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown where full military honors will be accorded.  To share memories or send condolences to the family, please visit www.doolittlefuneralservice.com.
