John Pasquale Castagna

John Pasquale Castagna of Cromwell, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2023, at the age of 79. John was born in Hartford, CT on September 23, 1943, to the late Tonino Castagna and Sebastiana (Pinnone) Castagna.

John was a dedicated and proud employee of the U.S. Postal Service for 44 years. As the patriarch of his family, John had a strong love and commitment to those he held most dear. John was an active sportsman and had a passion for riding motorcycles, fishing, boating, hunting, target shooting, bowling, and golfing. He enjoyed outings and get togethers with his cherished family. John could always make you smile. He will forever be a beloved husband, dad, stepdad, pop, grampy, father-in-law, brother, uncle, friend, hero, role model, force and legend that will live on forever through the hearts and souls of his family. We will miss you JOHNO!

John is survived by his wife, the love of his life, his soulmate Linda (Pawlowicz) Castagna, whom he shared a life with for 32 years. Besides his wife, he leaves behind his daughters, Michelle Dena Castagna of Southington, Lisa D’Acunto and her husband Mario of Berlin, Amy Maselli and her husband Giuseppe of Berlin, his stepchildren Christen Brawley and her husband Harry of Colchester, VT, and Brandon Hebert of Middletown; his grandchildren Matteo, Nico, Brielle, Gianluca, Alexis, Morgan, Hunter and Tanner. He is also survived by his brothers Vincent and Pasquale and his sister Diana DiBacco; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Tony.

Family and friends are welcome for calling hours on Friday, January 27th from 3:00 - 6:00pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at 6:00pm at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main St, Cromwell.
