John Wesley Bartell

John Bartell was born on October 2, 1959, in Florence County, South Carolina to the late John Henry Bartell, Sr. and Margaret (Kirk) Vinson. John took his last breath on February 19, 2026, at Middlesex Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

John is survived by his five children; Damien White of Middletown, CT, Krystle Thomas of Waterbury, CT, Pierre Bartell of Middletown, CT, CeCe Davenport of Middletown, CT and Jovon Bartell of East Hartford, CT. His six siblings; Annie Goodwin of Meriden, CT, Herman Bartell of New Britain, CT, John (Cheryl) Robinson of Pamplico, SC, Thomasine (Bobby) Askew of Ahoskie, NC, Lisa (James) Simpson of Middletown, CT and John (Lucia) Bartell Jr. of Waltham, MA. 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

John is predeceased by his parents John H. Bartell Sr., Margaret (Kirk) Vinson, his sister Angela Butler and brother Mark Brown.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Cross Street AME Zion Church 440 West Street Middletown, CT.
