Joanne Elizabeth Sampieri

December 16, 1955 – March 18, 2021 (age 65)

Joanne E. Sampieri passed away on March 18, 2021 after a 2-year battle with ovarian cancer.  She was a loving partner, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She adored her family and friends and put them above all else. Joanne was predeceased by her father, Carmelo D. (Carmen) Sampieri, and her mother, Ann E. (Fazzino) Sampieri. She is survived by daughter Kristen (Steven) Esteves, partner John Rogers, sister Marie Vernik, grandchildren Sydney and Dan, nephews Eric (Tara) Eyles, Gabriel and Meadow and several wonderful cousins. 

Joanne was born in Hartford, CT on December 16, 1955. She graduated Mercy High School in 1973. She lived much of her life in Middletown, CT but made some of her greatest memories at the beach in Old Saybrook, CT. Joanne was loved by so many for her caring heart and generous soul. She will be greatly missed. 

She worked most of her life in Financial Services. Most recently, she worked as a Client Relationship Manager at Hammond Isles Wealth Advisors. The people of Hammond Isles became her second family, and this company became her second home. They are a caring team of people who supported and stood by Joanne throughout her battle with cancer. They are committed to empowering people to live their lives with purpose. Joanne’s purpose was to make a meaningful difference in peoples’ lives. She demonstrated that purpose to her colleagues and clients each day.

Sincere thanks to the staff at Middlesex Health Cancer Center, especially Dr. Michael Farrell, Dr. Jonathan Cosin, Nurse Navigator Ashley Stanger, Louis, Diane, Brian and all the nurses in the infusion room.

The family will hold a private service in her memory.
