Jean Helen (Anstett) Butterfield

Jean Helen (Anstett) Butterfield, 94, of Middletown, wife of the late Robert J. Butterfield, passed away on July 3, 2023, at Middlesex Hospital.  Born in Winsted, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Frieda (Schaeffer) Anstett.

Jean graduated from the Hartford Hospital School of Nursing and went on to work at Connecticut Valley Hospital as Director of Nursing for over thirty years.  She volunteered with the Greater Middletown Concert Association, the Red Cross, and the Connecticut Valley Hospital Auxiliary.

Jean is survived by her daughters Deborah Butterfield and Cindy Butterfield, both of Middletown and a nephew Carl Anstett of Colebrook.

Along with her husband and parents, Jean was predeceased by her brother, Frank Anstett, Jr.

Per Jean’s request, there will be no services.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean’s memory may be made to Greater Middletown Concert Association, P.O.
