Jay Dudley Emmette, 77, of Middletown, husband of Heidi (Hood) Emmette, peacefully passed away at home on December 16, 2020. Born on May 24, 1943 in Middletown, he was the son of the late John Robert Emmette and Shirley (Russell) Emmette. Jay attended Woodrow Wilson High School, Class of 1961, Vinal Regional Vocational Technical School and Porter School of Engineering and Design where he studied Drafting. He retired from a long career at Aerospace Techniques Inc.
Jay and Heidi married on October 23, 1965. Jay lovingly raised his family and for many years taught the Sr. High Sunday School at Third Congregational Church, often recalling inspired moments of his experiences. Jay was also predeceased by his beloved Chippie dog.
In addition to his wife, Jay is survived by his daughter, Brenda and her husband, Tim of Middletown, his son, Todd and his wife, Heather of Windsor Locks, his daughter, Noelle and her husband, Dave of Southington.
He also leaves six grandchildren, Alicia Godbout, Megan Tetreault, Janis Emmette, Morgan, Tucker and Tyson Raymond; two great-grandchildren, Adriana Moffet and Wyatt Emmette.
Jay is also survived by his sister, Lynn (Emmette) Boyer, and his nephews Brian and David Butterfield.
