It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved sister Janice Ann Mierzejewski on Sunday August 17, 2025. Janice was born on August 1, 1961, in Hartford CT to William and Allegra Mierzejewski of Middletown. Janice had a wonderful life full of love and adventure having traveled with her parents to Alaska, Hawaii and road trips through many states when the folks had the RV and many bus trips with Mom and Jeanne. Janice was a participating member of MARC enjoying many friendships throughout the years and participated in Special Olympics. She especially loved LC's recreation program. In 1982 Janice and her Special Needs classmates were included to go to the prom and graduate with the rest of the class, wearing caps and gowns. A very big achievement. Janice's prom picture alongside her escort, Jeffrey Footit was chosen to be on permanent display at the JFK library in Boston.
Always a smile on her face. Janice radiated pure joy, happiness and love.
Janice was predeceased by her parents and brother William Mierzejewski. She is survived by her sister Jeanne Bolstridge and family, also several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Aspire Living and Learning for their care and compassion.
A private graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to MARC Community Resources, Recreation Program, 25 Industrial Park Road, Middletown, CT 06457. To share memories or send condolences to the family, please visit www.doolittlefuneralservice.com.
