James “Duke” Collar Weston, 85, of Middletown, husband of the late Margaret (Hugee) Weston, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Middlesex Health Care Center in Middletown. Born in Georgetown County, SC, he was the son of the late James and Tillie (Vereen) Weston.
Duke lived in Middletown since 1955 and was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. He was a hard worker who own and operated Weston Construction Company for over forty years.
Duke is survived by three sons, J.L. Bell of Wilmington, NC, James Bruce Weston (Angella) of Bloomfield and Freddie Anthony Weston of Middletown; two daughters, Flora Crump (Richard, Sr.) of Middletown and Donna Renee Weston of Meriden; three brothers, George Weston (Lillie) of Cromwell, Adell Weston of Somers and John Weston (Emma) of East Hampton; three sisters, Lillie Cain of Middletown, Mary Turner (William) of Meriden and Mabel McKnight of Fort Wayne, IN; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Along with his wife and parents, Duke was predeceased by his son, Raymond Andrew Weston and sister, Laura Carr.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 25th at 11:00 am at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Middletown. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Family and friends may call on Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the church.
