James Allen Brown

James Allen Brown, 73, of Willimantic, beloved husband of Arlene (Jendrewski) Brown for thirty-seven years, passed away on May 13, 2022 at Windham Hospital.  Born in Middletown, he was the son of the late James and Annie (Green) Brown, Jr.

James graduated from Middletown High School.  He moved to Willimantic in 1975.  He was employed by General Dynamics Electric Boat for nineteen years and Eastern Connecticut State University for twenty years.  He also worked part time at United Methodist Church in Mansfield.  James loved hunting, fishing, trucks and spending time with his grandchildren.

Along with his wife, James is survived by two sons, Dustin J.  Brown and James D. Larson and his wife Lisette, all of Willimantic; two brothers, Nathaniel Brown and his wife LaVern and Rev. John Brown, all of Middletown; a sister, Portia Crump of Richmond, VA; five grandchildren, Joel, Jonah, Jalene, Jaycelyn and Jaisoleil and a host of nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, James was predeceased by a son, Jason A. Brown.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 19th at 11:00 am at Shiloh Christian Church, 693 Saybrook Road, Middletown.  Burial will follow in Indian Hill Cemetery.  Family and friends may call on Thursday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the church.  To share memories or send condolences to the family, please visit www.doolittlefuneralservice.com.
