Jakori Yamah Pernell Locklear was born on May 6, 1980 to Howard and Sharon (Hoggard) Locklear. He departed this life suddenly on January 10, 2024. Jakori is survived by a son, Jaelyn Locklear, three sisters, Quatina Locklear Frazer, Quashara Locklear (Kareem Ward), and Onnalise Hardy, his grandfather, Clarence Gaskins and a host of nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends who loved him very dearly.
Jakori was what's known as a brilliant genius. From a child, he liked to take things apart and put them back together; he had an inquisitive and mathematical brain. He attended Vinal Technical High School and took several college classes. He released gospel rap music under the name Jaymelodious and Jay Mello and his music reached several countries.
The funeral service will take place on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 11:00 am at Shiloh Christian Church, 693 Saybrook Rd in Middletown, CT. Calling hours and viewing will be from 10:00 to 11:00am at the church. A burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Repast will be back at the church.
