Herrold Percel Davis Sr., age 78, passed away on March 18, 2024, at his home in Middletown Connecticut. Herrold was born in Kingston, Jamaica, son of Mavis Elizabeth James, and stepson to Gladstone Leopold James. He received his high school diploma from Andrew Jackson High School in Queens, New York and continued his educational journey by receiving certifications in Carpentry and Electrical at Job Corps.
Herrold began his career at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft Manufacturing where he worked for 10+ years on engines and plane parts. He transitioned into a career at CT Transit, from where he proudly retired after 25 years of public service.
Herrold enjoyed playing cards and dominoes, as well as listening to music. He enjoyed shopping for clothes and shoes, as he was an impeccable dresser; he also enjoyed interior decoration, his home was his canvas. He was an excellent dancer who could dance to English music as well as Spanish. He loved watching old westerns, action movies, basketball, and football. Herrold was a people person, always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. He never did anything begrudgingly, he always felt if the need was there, and he could make things a bit easier for others, then he was willing to offer his support. He was a jack of all trades, most of which he was self-taught. He had a great personality, great smile, warm and welcoming. He knew how to put people at ease and went out of his way to make sure no one was left out. He will be missed tremendously by many for his candor and fortitude.
He was pre-deceased by his parents Mavis E. James, Gladstone L. James and his brothers Sidney Lowe and Vincent James.
He leaves to cherish in his memory, brother Arvey James, his children Adrese R. Davis, Herrold P. Davis Jr. and Kelise Davis, his grandchildren Tyrique Tyndall-Davis, Jordan Davis, Jerrell Davis, Jaece Davis, Nyasia Davis, Cyann Davis, Jaiden Davis, Leeann Davis and Tavion Davis-Atkins.
