Frederick J. Mackowitz Jr.

Frederick J. Mackowitz Jr, 83 died on Friday, June 12, 2020 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born in Waterbury Hospital to Alice Gertrude and Frederick Julius Mackowitz Sr. He resided in Southbury CT.

Fred, also known as “Bo” to many, was a loving father of four children. After graduating from High School, he served in the Army from October of 1956 to October of 1958. He worked as a Realtor and Insurance Agent for over twenty years and he was past President of the Greater Waterbury Board of Realtors. He was also an active member in the Volunteer Fire Department and the Lions Club.

Fred was well respected in the community. He enjoyed playing golf, card games, (Setback was his favorite), camping with his family, and entertaining relatives in his home.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen Lee Curley of Middletown, June Ruth Burns of Plainfield, CT, Jaqueline Beth Cubeta of Guilford, CT, and Frederick Julius Mackowitz III of Higganum, CT.
