Frederick Kent Hasbrouck, 88, of Middletown, passed away on March 8, 2025. Born on January 14, 1937, in Stafford Springs Connecticut, he was son of Augustus Hasbrouck and Melissa (Medowcroft) Hasbrouck. He married Mary Ella Brock in 1962.
His family moved to Middletown, Connecticut in 1942 and he attended Farm Hill School and Woodrow Wilson High School graduating in 1955.
Kent joined the United States Airforce in 1956 and spent three years serving in England. During that time in England, he made close friends with common interests with those relationships remaining throughout his life.
Returning from the service, Kent went to work for Issacson Construction operating heavy equipment then to Mastercraft Trailers and Lowel Construction for a short time as a welding technician. Kent then was hired by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Manufacturing in East Hartford as a welder and was promoted to supervisor retiring in 1991.
Kent enjoyed his many years as a member of the Middletown Lions Club and was a key member in organizing the annual regatta on the Connecticut river. His passion was competing in tractor pulling events and working on antique tractors.
He leaves his wife Mary of 62 years, two sons Jeffery Kent Hasbrouck and Brett Richard Hasbrouck and his wife Julia and granddaughter Melissa, all of Middletown.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 19th at 10:00 am at Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
