Frances Shirley (Hale) Barrett

Frances Shirley (Hale) Barrett, 100, of Portland, passed away on June 8, 2024, at Portland Care & Rehabilitation.  Born in Portland, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Ronskavitz) Hale.

     Frances lived in Portland all her life where she was employed by Peterson Oil Company for over thirty years.  She loved gardening, flowers and vegetables, shopping and travelling with her sisters. Frances was a wonderful mother, mother-in-law and a wonderful grandma who loved her grandchildren dearly.

     Frances is survived by a son, Timothy H. Barrett and his wife Marjorie of Portland; a daughter, Deborah B. Mesick and her husband James of Durham; four grandchildren, Allen Mesick, Stephanie Mesick, David Barrett and Benjamin Barrett and many nieces and nephews.

     Along with her parents, Frances was predeceased by a brother, Charles Hale, Jr. and four sisters, Margaret Baines, Elizabeth Robida, Phyllis Basso and Janet Lynch.
