Eugenia Francis (Carey) Kearns

Eugenia Francis (Carey) Kearns, 97, of Cromwell, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Twin Maples in Durham.  Born in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late Luke and Francis (O’Connell) Carey.

Eugenia lived in Cromwell since 1946 and was a member of Saint John Church.  She was employed at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford for forty years retiring in 1983.  Eugenia was a member of Saint Francis Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association and of Saint Francis Hospital Auxiliary.

Eugenia is survived by her son, Gregory M. Kearns of Cromwell; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Jeffrey A. Kearns.

A graveside service will be held on Friday September 21st at 10:00 am in St. Bridget Cemetery, North Moodus Road, Moodus.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Eugenia’s memory may be made to Saint John Church, 5 Saint John Court, Cromwell, CT 06416.  To share memories or send condolences to the family, please visit www.doolittlefuneralservice.com.
