Erwin Blakley Williams

Erwin Williams, a proud United States Navy Veteran passed away peacefully on Monday, July 1, 2024, at the age of 69. Erwin was born in Bridgeport, CT on December 11, 1954, and grew up in the Tunbridge, VT area. After high school Erwin joined the United States Navy in December of 1975 and served on the USS Lexington until his discharge in January 1978. Erwin was very proud of his service. Erwin worked for many years at the Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs in the Food Service Department. Erwin was a member of the Open Doors Outdoors group who hiked various trails and mountains in Connecticut and Massachusetts. Even as Erwin battled his ongoing medical issues, he continued to be active in all areas of his life. He was an inspiration to those who he shared his life with. For those who know him he will be missed greatly. May he rest in peace.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 11th at 10:00 am at Department of Veterans Affairs Lower Residential Chapel, 287 West Street, Rocky Hill. Burial will follow in Colonel Raymond F. Gates Memorial Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded. Family and friends may call before the service from 9:30 am to 10:00 am in the Chapel.
