Elizabeth Johnson

Elizabeth Johnson, 98, of Middletown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Middlesex Hospital. Born in Cumberland County, VA. She was raised by her grandmother Nancy Johnson.Elizabeth has lived in Middletown since the 1950s. She was first employed by Smith Laundry of Middletown then at Middlesex Hospital in Environmental Services for eighteen years, retiring in 1986.

Elizabeth is survived by a nephew, Richard L. Glover (Kathleen) of Brooklyn, NY, four nieces, Virginia Early of Windsor, Debra McEwen (Sam) of Cordova, TN, Cheryl Huckabey of Concord, NC and Tracey Glover of Watervliet, NY and several great nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and grandparents, Elizabeth was predeceased by a nephew George T Glover and niece Anne H Glover, as well as her sisters Christel Glover, Mollie Riddle, Mabel Sanderson and brother Ackeary Riddle.

Family and friends may call on Monday, March 22nd from 10:00am to 11:00am at Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church St., Middletown. Funeral service will be private but livestreamed. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Middletown. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elizabeth’s memory may be made to Connecticut Hospice,100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
